When I read poetry, I do it for enjoyment. Unlike with novels or short stories, I find it incredibly difficult to critique poetry. Poems are emotion and beauty and thought put into words that can be both simple and complex and everyone can connect to them in different ways. There is a magic to the art of poetry and I am constantly amazed by it. I really enjoyed these poems, and I look forward to enjoying many more by Ben Ditmars in the future.

I feel like a voyeur as I delve deep into the mind of the author/poet. He tears down the wall and show me the raw soul and naked emotions. Love and loss, is shared without restraint.

The remarkable thing is that he describes so enormous emotions in sometimes-short bursts. He has a gift of packing a lot of power in a few words.

My favorite poem was Inhale the Night. Of Death and Love, A Heart Can Feel and Brewing Coffee also stood out in my opinion. The fact is that I loved the whole collection and I'm definitely going to read it again.

The collaboration with Poppy Ruth Silver fits in beautifully.

If you like poetry, then you must read this collection!!
