This book was highly informative, it went over the BTK case in detail, but a bit too much detail. I didn’t need to know every move the police and reporters made. I think they tried to make themselves part of the story's heroes because the writers were the reporters. They did give the police a lot of credit, but also, in my opinion, overinflated their roles.
Overall, it was an intense book, I am glad they didn’t get overly graphic in their depictions of the crimes, it was graphic but not salaciously so. If you already know quite a bit about this case, you may still learn a few things, mostly corrections of commonly misreported things. However, if you follow reputable sources that do their homework, then you won’t learn much from this book.
Narrator Rating: 4.0 stars
The narrator did an acceptable job, but nothing special. Still better than most non-fiction narrators, but certainly not the best.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Sexism, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Torture, Violence, Stalking, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Addiction, Gun violence, Pedophilia, and Blood
Minor: Animal cruelty and Animal death
