'Saga' has an intriguing storyline that successfully weaves the lives of three women together over a period of some one thousand years. It also provides a wonderful message of the important place of women in history. However, I found some of the writing, in particular the dialogue, and the writing of Mia's story thread, clunky and unconvincing. Then end of the book was also quite abrupt and felt a little incomplete. For me, these factors reduced the pleasure of reading the story.
PS As an archaeologist, I found the retrieval of the book about the Goddess unconvincing, and it was a pity that it so thoroughly violated heritage laws.
