The Steele Wolf began where The Iron Butterfly ended. Thalia continued to struggle to regain her memories. The love triangle that began in The Iron Butterfly continued, and there was still no conclusion, though I am sure that answers will be provided in the next installment. I could do without the love triangle, but I can understand why it is there. Thalia is still coming to terms with the trauma she endured while being experimented on and tortured, and we see this both physically and emotionally. Answers are provided as to the 'how' Thalia was kidnapped from such a strong and protected village. We see the animosity and prejudice between the clans. After Thalia returns home and revelations are made to her closest family and family friends, we see some of them question their beliefs. The Septori continue to kidnap children from the clans. Overall, it was very well written, a quick read, and held my attention well.

It had been a while since I had read The Iron Butterfly, but it was a memorable read, so I didn't feel too worried about whether or not I would remember the story going into The Steele Wolf. That being said, there was a quick recap given in chapter one that I appreciated nonetheless.

Still a good one. There were editing issues that were annoying. Oh and joss bugs me. He's too possessive and assuming.

Jan 18,2013 This book was so good! I loved the characters and the ongoing story development. I really like this author. I am a little annoyed because this is the second series I have read by her that isn't finished. I am starting to wonder if there will be an ending to this series and the other one. I really wish there would be! Oh and still totally confused on the era. It's like mid evil times? But then Thalia puts on a short dress or pants?!?! Hum. Super confused about that. And a little bit of editing problems. But these things didn't bother me enough apparently since I gave it 5 stars.

A real plot twist compared to the previous book, but very interesting to see Thalia in a new environment with her father. Definitely still a recommendation for a light read.

Book was pretty good. Good continuation of the story. Definitely had some "Brave" vibes to it. My problem came in the character of Thalia. With all she has been through, you would expect she would be very strong. In parts she is, but then she reverts to the role of a whiney child that throws tantrums and pouts to get her way. I would have liked more consistency with her character. Also, the love triangle in the story feels forced. Overall a fine read, but was slightly disappointed.

A reread. I dropped it a star. Guess I'm getting pickier in my old age.
