2.5? 3? I don't know where this falls. I have to get back to my reviews as I've listened to a lot of un-rateable audiobooks recently.

So this book was entertaining but holy character flaws...

So many gross decisions made by the main character. So incredibly selfish and just yuck. She literally has two girls that are willing to forgive her for her past and still forge a friendship. But yet she just chooses to ditch that all for... what?

Can we also talk about how terrible Patrick is though as well? He is borderline verbally abusive and does it without having to apologize for his actions. Slut shaming, vulgar words and then doing exactly the same thing as the main character with zero repercussions.

And then don't even get me started on her Mom. WHAT A VIOLATION OF MOTHER DAUGHTER TRUST. Again, yuck.

Lastly- random mean girls? That have nothing to do with the situation? And just a hint of an LGBTQ to check off a box? Nope.

Only redemption of the book is the boys mom- knowing that she isn't the only guilty party.
Was going to continue the series, but I just can't justify it. Probably in the unpopular opinion with this one.

This YA was kind of messed up, to be honest. I wanted to slap them all. Hopefully the sequel gives me closure and redeems Gabe and Molly.

I really want to hate some of the characters but I can't. There is something very human and flawed in all of them.

I feel like I enjoyed this a bit better because I read the 1 star 2 star reviews and knew a little of what to expect, and I saw the ending coming a mile away. I also really want to shake Molly hard. And I feel like there could have been a much better storyline with her relationship with her mom. missed opportunity.

“basically it’s just really hard to remember your hometown isn’t the only place in the world, you know?"

I liked the book ,even though it confused the hell out of me. I mean I had so much mixed feelings for Molly and Patrick's behavior through the book. Like get a grip dude! But at the same time I understand that sometimes being in her place even if it wasn't the same situation is kind of hard to do the right thing and to think logically. I liked the ending. It was realistic and hopeful-ish I guess. I recommend it if you want to see how being hated and judge by everyone and how to get through it. Even though you made a mistake.
