My second time with this book, this time as an audio read by the great Frank Muller. I think my enjoyment was enhanced by just having listened to The Talisman. If anything, I loved Black House even more the second time around.

Henry Laden and the Thunder Five are among King's (and Straub's) best supporting characters. I felt I left them all too soon.

Now on to Hearts in Atlantis, one of the other Tower-adjacent books.

I failed to connect with this and I’m not fully sure why. I liked The Talisman a lot, but this return felt forced and too obsessed with being a Dark Tower book rather than its own thing.
