as with any anthology, some great stories and some duds. my favourites were the city unbreachable by yoon ha lee, princess, shieldmaiden, witch and wolf by neon yang and plan z by by django wexler. my least favourite was the sweet tooth of angwar bec by ellen kushner, which i was pretty disappointed in! honourable mentioned to aliette de bodard’s the scholar of the bamboo flute, which i think was fucked over by placing and should have been put earlier in the anthology.
fun to read! try it :)
also this cover is gorgeous
