Wish I had started this on vacation because I would’ve devoured it in a day! Loved it!

Honestly, this felt like a generic-brand of "Undomestic Goddess". The idea of someone being burned out and managing that appealed to me, but the plot just was not compelling and there were so many small parts like the work relationships, family relationships, the local artist, the incident from 20 years ago, and the hotel being so run down that it was hard to figure out what to focus on and none of them felt like they were told fully. This would've been a 2 star, but I didn't really love some of the characters.

Cute and easy to breeze through; funny, lighthearted, and filled with likable characters. Would be a great beach read, imo.

Definitely a cheesy book at times, but loved watching Sasha rediscover her agency.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing team for sharing this ARC with me!
I haven't read a Sophie Kinsella book in a while so it took me a minute to get into the writing style, especially with it being a UK book.
I appreciated the humor found in the story as well as the heart behind all the characters you meet. The whole thing with Terry was very sweet and I really liked how it wrapped up in the end. I found Sasha's feelings too relatable and it got me thinking about my own burnout which...we'll just ignore for now lol.
While I kept reading, I found that the story got a little jumbled in the middle there. I wasn't too invested and found myself skimming through (many) of the boring bits. I didn't really find there to be much chemistry between Finn and Sasha for a romance; they were great as friends.
Overall, entertaining in some bits, and dragged in others.

Honestly this was so cute. It really hit close to home because I feel that burnout life. Sasha and Finn are likable characters and their chemistry makes sense. Definitely a slow burn (which I love). It’s just a feel good read and the characters were all logical and relatable.
