This really put me in my feels 🥰

It was so sad and sweet at the same thing.

I felt so bad for Marjorie, I didn’t like how literal adults were too comfortable bullying a CHILD 😤 That made me so angry and I hated how the dad was letting his child take care of the family, I get that he was grieving but to let your daughter deal with the hard parts while she is ALSO grieving is crazy to me.

But I’m glad everything worked out for Marjorie at the end, she really deserves the best.

I’m glad the ghosts were able to help Marjorie out and save her business.

The graphics are gorgeous and this was such a great read.

Definitely buying the others in this series!

I had high expectations for this but I found it a bit disappointing. The plot felt a little thin and I never felt invested. The villain felt comical and unconvincing but the other themes of death and grief felt very heavy. However I loved the colouring and some of the illustrations were beautiful, particularly the backgrounds. It was worth reading for the art but I don't think I'll be picking up the next ones.

A very sweet coming-of-age story. The art and colours are stunning. There was just a disconnect for me between some of the very heavy themes, the pacing, and the comical villain. Overall I would love for this to have been longer for more in-depth relationship-building, and for the heavier themes to have been addressed more deeply. I think youth are more likely to enjoy the pacing and plot payoffs. Otherwise, it is a sweet read for an afternoon, and despite my less-than-stellar review, I am curious enough to read the next installment.

I was not aware that this graphic novel was supposed to be YA (honestly it's more for pre teens than teenagers in my opinion) so I feel bad for rating it this low mainly for the childish storyline and implausible character actions. At the same time, I've enjoyed plenty of YA books and comics before. This just didn't do much for me.

I absolutely loved the illustrations, besides the facial expressions of the characters and this makes me give this graphic novel more than just one star.

What really bothered me though was the author/illustrater making evil charcters look unattractive or having a bigger size. This graphic novel came out in 2018 so there's no excuse for problematic tropes like that. Also there's not really anything to take away from the story in the end rather than a mild "be nice and help people".

I liked the colors and the ending. However, there were some gaps in the story timeline, and the illustrations weren’t really my style. I hope the rest of the series works out for Wendell and Marjorie!
