This was an audio book for me. Really enjoyed the lighthearted story and the narrator was very good.

Peeled is a story about finding a way to do what you know in your heart is right. The main character Hildy Biddle is an aspiring journalist who smells something fishy about the main newspaper in her town.

Very enjoyable! I can understand why this is required reading for Hunter's English class. Although it is lower level, it has some great teachable elements in regards to writing.

Don't remember details on this one. I do remember it being funny.

I love Joan Bauer. Love her books, love her characters, love the situations she finds. And this one, while not perfect, hit me just right. Possibly because I had the same dreams as Hildy did: to be a great reporter. I just didn't follow through as well. Still. It was nice to read a book about someone who did.

for Mother/Daughter Book Club this month.

I like Olive's Ocean much better...while the characters in Peeled are "older," they seemed so much younger...only they could drive. So shallow compared.

Can't wait to hear what the rest of the group thinks when we meet on the 18th.

I love Joan Bauer. This wasn't my favorite of her books, but it was a good, clean, fun YA book w/ not even a hint of sex... and that's hard to find in YA novels these days.

" Hildy Biddle dreams of being a journalist. A reporter for her high school newspaper, The Core, she's just waiting for a chance to prove herself. Not content to just cover school issues, Hildy's drawn to the town's big story--the haunted old Ludlow house. "

While not my favoriye novel by Bauer, this I'd still a worth reading teen novel.
