Elton John reflects on his life and career, including his struggles with addiction, and being an out, gay man during the AIDS epidemic, while also being one of the most famous pop singers of the 20th century. This is a star-studded book, with anecdotes of Princess Diana, Gianni Versace, Geoge Michaels, the Beetles, the Rolling Stones, Elvis, and so many more. It is also a deeply sad story of a man searching for love and acceptance in his own life. Elton is open and honest about his mistakes and wrong doings, but also stands firm in how his decisions good and bad shaped his life. A great read for any fan of the man, the movie Rocketman, or just music fans in general.

This was a continuation of my audiobook memoir journey and it was fun. I knew a bit about Elton John going in, but now a whole lot, so there was a lot to learn. I appreciated how honest and human John felt when telling his story. He didn't shy away from sharing things that made him sound pretty awful, and was able to reflect on some of the less great things he's done. I'm glad the book is fairly new and wrapped up after his marriage and children. He definitely has had an interesting life, and this was a fun read.

Sooo incredible, especially at the tail end where it got shocking and surprising, but ended very gratifyingly.
