Nicole does it again.

Nyema is a thriving DJ and songwriter, Langston is an accountant at her father's firm. On paper, in person, together they don't make sense. He's corny Carlton Banks, and she's forced to have Sunday dinner with him every week because her parents love him. Is it dislike, or is it sexual tension? An unfortunate elevator incident leaves them trapped together and Nyema completely losing it. Langston does the only thing he can think of and kisses her into oblivion. Holy beef on a stick this man is hot. One thing leads to another and she's eventually calling every diety ever to exist and he's "ruining her life," but in a toe curling, make you forget your name type of way. These two are so right for each other after figuring out just how wrong they'd been about each other. Y'all low-key know Carlton Banks had skills, so LangSton wasn't about to disappoint.

funny lighthearted
This was such a good romcom, which Nicole Falls does so well!!

This one did have some editing issues/typos and one inconsistency that had me flipping a few chapters back and found to be slightly distracting, but I still really enjoyed this! Like laughing out loud in public.

Nyema was living her best life in her chosen career as a DJ and sleeping with men with no strings. Langston is a young professional accountant who only wants one woman his mentors daughter Nyema only problem is Nyema seems to hate him. Eventually Nyema drops her shield for a brief second causing Langston to notice so he takes that as his opportunity to go after what he wants.

For some reason I just love an enemies to lovers story, their chemistry is always hot and Langston and Nyema were no different. Langston was such a gentleman, I loved how he was perceived as this lame dude but the moment someone underestimated him he showed them just how wrong they were. Nyema was a boss chick who lived by her own rules and I loved that. She wasn’t who anyone wanted her to be, she was just herself with no shame.

This was a quick read that kept me engaged from the very first chapter. It was a cute love story and as always Nicole throws her comedy in making it a fun read. I am excited to get to the next read, we got a tiny glimpse of Niko and Jayde’s introduction to each other and it seems like their union will be hot. Again I say Nicole Falls never disappoints.

nice book

Nyema was a DJ who was very passionate about her craft but her father of course wanted her to take a different route in her career. When she first meets Langston who works with her father in the corporate world, and who also had an opinion about her job, she was immediately over him. Ultimately, she had it written in her mind that she wanted to stay clear of him, but that’s extremely hard when he’s constantly being forced in her space. She soon realized that she made the wrong assumption and a corny brotha was something Langston was not. I was really feeling him and loved how he was always into her. Regardless of how snappy and sometimes insufferable she came off, he always kept his attitude neutral when they ran into each other. He could have easily gave sis that same energy, but he was really feeling her and did not feed into her B.S. Nyema was cautious with her heart and her past relationship had her on guard, but Langston was ready to make that transition to being in a relationship with her when they finally got together. I enjoyed this book. The chemistry was there and several times I caught myself laughing out loud because the jokes Nyema had were funny. I do recommend this book if you’re looking for a cute frenemies to lovers quick read.

Nic does it again!

I love the realness of these characters and their story. Nyema was your typical type A woman, who had her own plans for her life but still wanted to please her daddy. Her challenge was that she couldn’t bear living someone else’s dream. Langston was the responsible straight laced dude who seemed boring. But he really learned from watching others live disastrous lives. He had edge but he also had standards. This story was full of classic Nicole humor. The constant 90s sitcom references made me weak. And the GVBG did me in!
