Great story, great dual timeline writing, and very engaging. I love that this is loosely based on real people and real events. Only knocked a star for predictability and cheesiness.

This was an interesting read. I thought it, perhaps, been a little more entertaining...not so much about the Royal Family and the Gown but as we learned about the lives of the three women involved in the major part of the story....their lives and characters needed a bit more fleshing out....other than that it was okay.

Set in post war England, I loved this story about two friends. I had tired of reading WWII novels due to the depressing content. This book dealt with the war atrocities in such a gentle and hopeful fashion that it wasn’t too painful to read.

DNF page 274. The SA scene was very sudden and really hard to read and it made me not want to finish the book. It was pretty good up until that point.

I loved this so much! Not only an interesting behind-the-scenes take on making a royal wedding dress, but also life in post WWII England.

It's probably a 4-star book, but I had hyped this book so much to myself, and it wasn't able to live up to my own feelings. Nice storyline, LOVED the subject, creative writing.

Gobbled up in a couple of days, this book had the formula suited for me. A touch of now and then, a touch of granddaughter seeking a connection to her lost grandmother's life, wrapped up in a historical fiction. This book is very much about regular folks and their impact on a greater story/period of time. I liked it quite a bit. I found it easy to read and not overly described. Its something I never would have thought to write about - but Ms Robson did, and I am glad for it.
