No. DNF at 42%. I’m sorry I can’t do 30 year old virgins who don’t allow cussing. And she’s still wearing her daddy‘s purity ring. Dialog is dated.

Joselyn Kendrick is a writer who has spent the past several years living in fear after serving on a jury that convicted serial murderer and rapist -- only to have him threaten her, too. Even his death won't keep her safe, as the threats keep on coming. Maddox "River" Benson is at loose ends after retiring from the U.S. Navy (as a SEAL), so he's willing to help an ex-teammate turned detective out when he's told about Joselyn's need for a bodyguard. Despite their differences, River and Joselyn get closer as he protects her and they work to solve the mystery of her stalker.

Protecting Joselyn is a fairly standard romance novel, but that's not a bad thing. The characters are interesting and I like their relationships to each other (by and large), including Rover's family and Joselyn's family. It's predictable, but well written, like the romance novel equivalent of comfort food.

I had high hopes for this... was delighted to find a series that might match up to the joy that I found in Susan Stroker's series. It didn't. It wasn't awful... but it didn't grab me and have me sitting on the edge of my seat in breathy anticipation.

Oh... and errors... sighs...
