felt like the earlier books w the characters in it. i rlly miss the bobby and DD dynamic, dont rlly know why gardner removed bobby from the main series other then short cameos. i enjoyed this case more then live to tells but tbh still doesn’t beat the neighbors. only gave it a 5 bc i rlly missed bobby and DD, and of course the mystery aspect.

"WHO DO YOU LOVE?
One question, a split-second decision, and Brian Darby lies dead on the kitchen floor. His wife, state police trooper Tessa Leoni, claims to have shot him in self-defense, and bears the bruises to back up her tale. For veteran detective D. D. Warren it should be an open-and-shut case. But where is their six-year-old daughter?

AND HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO . . .
As the homicide investigation ratchets into a frantic statewide search for a missing child, D. D. Warren must partner with former lover Bobby Dodge to break through the blue wall of police brotherhood, seeking to understand the inner workings of a trooper's mind while also unearthing family secrets. Would a trained police officer truly shoot her own husband? And would a mother harm her own child?

. . . TO SAVE HER?

For Tessa Leoni, the worst has not yet happened. She is walking a tightrope, with nowhere to turn, no one to trust, as the clock ticks down to a terrifying deadline. She has one goal in sight, and she will use every ounce of her training, every trick at her disposal, to do what must be done. No sacrifice is too great, no action unthinkable. A mother knows who she loves. And all others will be made to pay.
Love you more . . . " (From Amazon)

3 STARS
I am not sure about D.D. being pregnant although her relationship is very interesting. The case was interesting but I felt it lost steam towards the end. Bobby Doge makes an appearance in this one and it is good to see him and D.D. back on a case. I can't wait for the next one! (May 31, 2011)

3.5 STARS
I reread this one in order to catch up on the rest of the Tessa Leoni series. I enjoyed this one on audio so will try to listen to book 2 and 3 on audio as well. After this reading of Love You More I had a greater appreciation for Tessa and liked her character a lot more. I have read the novels after this in which D.D. has the baby and I enjoyed revisiting the moment she found she was pregnant and wanted the baby. (November 14, 2014)

Always a fan of a good murder mystery.
Lisa Gardner is a good story teller and keeps the audience guessing till the last chapter.
Listened to the audio book of one of her books for the first time.

Love You More
4 Stars

Lisa Gardner's fast paced writing style and captivating plots are the reason she is one of my favorite crime authors, particularly her Quincy/Rainie series. Unfortunately, her D.D. Warren books have never been stellar (perhaps because D.D. herself is not that likable a heroine) but Love You More breaks this unremarkable trend.

Once again, the perspective alternates between first and third person. While this has irritated me in the past, it works well here as it adds to the characterization and tension in the plot. D.D. also mellows somewhat in this book although she still comes across as harsh and brash at times and her detecting skills definitely need work.

The mystery is what makes this a worthwhile read. The intricate twists and turns together with Tessa's amazing mind and ability to strategize keep the reader guessing as the story slowly unravels and the villains and motives become clear.

Overall, this is one of the better books in this particular series and I will continue on to the next one.

Lisa Gardner did it again! This book was just amazing, the twists and turns were so exciting and there was not a moment that I was bored.

Tessa Leoni is my new favorite, I wish that Lisa would take this character and create more stories for her.

If I hadn't already read a book further along in the series, this would have really had me wondering, but even though I knew a few things... it had m wondering how it was going to all turn out. Great book!

A friend lent me this book so I've missed a few in the D.D. Warren series, but I still found it to be a very good story on its own.
I was engrossed in the plot from the start and it kept calling for me, difficult to put down!
I don't particularly like D.D.'s character though and this stage of her personal life was especially not my cup of tea, but the mystery was good.
Tessa Leoni was also not my favorite character, so we'll see how the next ones in the series will be.
