This book hooked me immediately. Literally had me hooked at sexy assassin, enchanted forest, elves and other dangerous creatures. This book has a lot of the tropes I enjoy. I did see similarities with Throne of glass but I felt like the author did a great job of making it her own and adding different elements to the story to make it more original. The one thing that bothered me that was too similar to TOG for me is the nickname. Firespirit=Fireheart. I want these characters to stand on there own without them reminding me of Aelin. I still really cannot wait for book 2.
