This hit all of the right major beats for me, but I wanted a slower pace to allow for more tension. I liked the characters and wanted more time for them to develop and simmer in certain situations. The story moves at a rapid pace, especially near the end and that left me unsatisfied.

I enjoyed this a lot more than expected. Annoyingly the miscommunication trope was noticeably offputting. Why can’t we have the lovebirds share the information with each other and then do a little mini heist against the villain? Sigh. Missed Opportunity.
There were a couple of phrases that were beautifully written.
And I get the sense that the MMC is neuro divergent because of how he describes his head spinning with relentless fidgeting thoughts. I also thought it shows that he struggled with emotional regulation and rejections sensitivity.

Benedict (mainly called Chatham) and Charlotte
So lovely and refreshing (especially after an average book 3).
I adore a reformed rake story - especially when he has to work hard (physically) and overcome a lot for his redemption. The part on him sobering up was well done.
And Charlotte was great - so smart and sweet. I loved how they were both tall!
