I grabbed this little book out of my local Free Little Library, because it was the only thing in there worth taking 😬. A quick bite of eastern zen philosophy, a thoughtful way to spend an hour and a half. Coelho offers a unique and interesting philosophy of life built around the act of archery, a refined and focused perspective on living an intentional life. A bit more basic than the philosophy I'm used to reading, but enjoyable nonetheless.

This is my second Paulo Coelho book. I enjoyed it! I loved The Alchemist more because it was a story woven with life advice compared to this short-story-like philosophical book. But each genre has its place and purpose.

I loved the metaphor of the art of archery and life. It's not a 5-star read since I feel like maybe the author could've expanded a bit more or made the story a little denser. I would have loved to know a little bit more about the characters so that I could feel attached to them. Although, I quite like that we don't get to know a lot about the characters because it lets us read the story as if it was our own. Like the archer was talking to the reader. Because of this lack of character details, the reader can see themselves more clearly in the story and in the metaphor.

It was slow-paced because of how reflective the messages were but a very quick read (and I am a slow reader).

The illustrations are absolutely beautiful!!!

It seems the print version with illustrations helps saves this book. The audiobook was underwhelming
