Well written, interesting plot, tons of action in this one. It actually amazes me how many more books there are in this series because so much happened in just this one book. I had read up to around chapter 30 but I was pleasantly surprised that Othello was against him. I didn't guess the bad guy either which is really good.

Annoying main character, why set up lots of friends then send them on holiday?

Damn, just damn! I'm trying very hard not to do a full out fan-girl squeal, but it's soooo hard. I laughed, I cried (seriously), I cussed and I cheered. It is everything an Urban Fantasy book should be. Shayne Silvers, you did damn good!

As always I'm glad the bad guys lost, but I felt like the ending was a tad too hokey. But otherwise a very entertaining read.

-definitely enjoying this series!
"don't tempt me. i could justifiably end you. right here, right now."
"tempt you? i just fought a demon in the middle of the street and you sat there and watched. even the Regular jumped in to help me. what the hell is wrong with you? are you honestly delusional enough to think you are wearing the white hat here?" (a regular is a non-wizard)
"its never good when you blindly follow some belief system or group of people without consciously deducing whether what they do is right or wrong. the number one test is to wonder what would happen if you openly, but respectfully, questioned your commander's decision when you think it's wrong. if the answer in any way resembles punishment, pain, or ridicule, rather than an explanation, you're probably not working for the good guys."
"when you find yourself knee-deep in shit, don't sit there complaining about it. start walking."

This was a great follow up to Obsidian Sun. Nate find himself in some real trouble. We add angels to the ever growing list of creatures/beings after him. It's filled with page turning action with Nate's snarky remarks and humour.
I'm looking forward to the next one
