I need to interrupt this regularly schedule blog to comment on something. What is up with the guy on the cover? Seriously what is going on with his face? This is what I see on that cover

Woman: So I'm pregnant but in a cute way and I was thinking we could sunbathe a bit.
Man: You look puffy...oohh shiny...

Out of all of the photos possible, why this one?

I'm a stickler for reading a series in order but I started with book two this time. I wanted to start with book one but it was checked out at the library. This seemed like a good enough place to start although it references the previous book a bit.

Before this book Ryan and Kelly broke up when Ryan discovered Kelly cheated on him with his brother. For some reason he can't get her out of his mind so he tracks her down in a crappy diner. She's just as he remembered her except she's really pregnant. Being the great guy he is, he decides she's coming home but reminds her the baby could be his brother's. In the meantime we learn the truth about the brother and Kelly and learn everyone is a bit of a bitch to Kelly. Of course, conflicts arise and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

Periodically I wanted to kick Kelly gently and ask her why she was so ridiculous. She let Ryan go along with his version of what happened because he didn't believe her six months earlier. Instead of calling him on his bullshit she took it and then took it from everyone else! Seriously girl, stand up for yourself just a bit.

I almost felt sorry for Ryan. Everyone lied to him pretty much all the time and all out of 'concern' for his well-being. He played the victim but he was a victim just not by Kelly. He was victimized by his family over and over again and it took almost losing Kelly to make him realize it.

This was my favorite of the three books I read in this series. I really liked watching their relationship unfold as they tried to ignore the past although it was ultimately too big of a past to be pushed aside. I also enjoyed discovering Ryan was a pretty decent groveler when he realized he was severely in the wrong. I love a good groveler.

I would recommend this as a good one to read in this series. You can read it without reading the first one for the most part. Plus it has my favorite HP storyline...BABY! I love a good pregnancy HP.

A wonderfully romantic tale of love and forgiveness. I loved how strong and resilient Kelly was. That after having her heart broken instead of being all weepy, mopey and pathetic, she decided to be tough and endure whatever life threw her way. That she wasn't all teary and forgiving, but instead angry and snappy when her un-trusting ex-fiancee showed up. A good, strong, independent main character. She was awesome, she knew what she wanted and she wasn't willing to let anyone mistreat her. You go, girl!

We already know from Book One how Ryan Beardsley is searching for his fiancée, oops ... make it ex, after she vanished from the scene, after sleeping with his brother.

Ryan is curious as to what happened with Kelly, why didn't she encash the cheque he gave her and this much he confides in Devon as well while they attend the wedding of Rafe and Bryony on Moon Island. And then his investigator calls saying that Kelly's in Houston. And he takes off from Texas to finally get to her.

Kelly Christian had left New York six months ago. And when she comes face-to-face with Ryan in the diner she's working in, where he finds her, almost seven months pregnant, she is furious! And he couldn't understand why she's angry when he thinks that he was the one who was wronged.

When she'd needed him the absolute most, he'd let her down and treated her like a paid whore. She would never forgive him for that.

No, she didn't have his money, his connections, his breeding or heritage. But who even cared about that stuff in this day and age?

I love Kelly. Because she is strong and can hold her own. She even thinks about getting a restraining order against Ryan. He takes her with him to New York to better care for her, after the doctor warns her to be off her feet.

Kelly's mother is a piece of work, who doesn't support their own children?
On the other hand, there's Ryan's mother who keeps throwing another woman, Roberta Maxwell, on him.

Ryan still believes she slept with his younger brother Jarrod. When the three of them are in a room again, it's finally revealed what had actually happened in the past. Ryan and Kelly are both hurting. If not for their hurtful past between them, Ryan's TLC on St. Angelo beach (mini-vacation) was pure adoration. My heart went out to Kelly, for what horrible things she went through on the day she should have been the happiest. What I liked most was that in spite of their bittersweet past, they both were willing to trust each other again, to move forward, without letting anything affect them.

The final confrontation, it will shred your emotions. The story has been so beautifully etched out. And the comeuppance mother and son get was great. But for the assault, Jarrod should have been jailed, a punch was too less of a punishment.

The grovelling scene at the end was perfect. Highly recommended.

P.S. Among all the four books, Ryan and Kelly's story is the one I liked the most, and while all the stories got proper closure in the next book, I believe Kelly got the short end of the stick. She and Ryan get a mention only at the end of the fourth book [b:Undone by Her Tender Touch|14061430|Undone by Her Tender Touch (Pregnancy & Passion, #4)|Maya Banks|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1337552392s/14061430.jpg|17467319], and that they have a daughter, Emma. Even in the fourth book, it is apparent how Kelly is still a little bit detached as opposed to Bryony, Ashley, and Pippa's easy friendship.

Very cute but it drove me crazy that these two wouldn't have a conversation and fix the hurt feelings. It got to be too much after awhile

I hate that it was so realistic that a guy wouldn't believe a woman about being SA'd.

Ryan was a supreme douche and I hate him. I hated everything about the book tbh
