Welp it finally happened folks. A Kawaguchi Book that wasn’t an immediate 5⭐️. Honestly I was certain of this from the very first story. I just didn’t feel that same emotional connection to the character as with other stories. Same goes to some extent with the main girl from The Proposal story. The switch from 3rd person to 1st person was also something that I didn’t particularly like. Which wasn’t even consistent in the book itself, seeing as the last one was a classic story. Also I don’t like how
Kohtake is I think pretending to be a nurse to Mr Fusagi? What happened to the original plot of the movie?
I don’t know I just was a bit disappointed by this book to be honest. I hope the next one isn’t the same.

As with all other installments of this series, it is a simple book telling readers to be kind and to avoid regrets; a simple, bittersweet story.

Nothing to write home about, but a pleasant easy read that can be finished in two hours or so.

A reliable read with new and returning characters, a fast pace, and emotional journeys.

For the fourth entry in the series, the premise is rather repetitive. It also jumps back in time from the third entry which confused me at first.

I love the series and I will continue to read new entries without a doubt, I just feel as though I’m desperate for a plot twist or at least some further lore expansion than simply describing the café, Kazu’s plain characteristics and
her painful attachment to her ghost mum
, and the rules of the time travel.
