I loved this read, but also I hated it. Which is to say it was a well written and compelling addition to the series, with a couple exciting new side characters who were well developed... but also I feel a little emotionally distraught having finished it.

At first it was a bit boring to read because I really wanted to get into the action but the ending turned out better than expected. John's relationship with Marci was great because he seemed to get some development. Although I predicted that Nobody have taken control of Marci somehow I was really sad when she died and angry when it was confirmed that Nobody was the cause. I was kinda disappointed to see Brooke back in the picture but I loved how everything circles back around and it made for a great ending. John's mother dying was heartwrenching especially because of how sudden it was and how she could actually feel the pain of the fire. And the plot twist was a bit shocking though I should have known that that overeagerness Agent Ostler showed wasn't for nothing.

I live how even though we see John get some development in his character and emotion the book never actually put emotional descriptions when John wants to describe his feeling. I get that it's mainly because she doesn't know how he feel about a lot of things but at the end as he watched his mother die he didn't say he "stared in horror" or something which I really loved and appreciated.  My school only has the 1st 3 books so I'm really eager to by the next 3.

This book changes the status quo, by being like 70% relationship and only 30% plot, and it was great!

was a great character and it was nice for John to actually make a real friend.
The ending of this book might make you cry
