This was a very tense book with a good story line behind it, I enjoyed the fact that it was not a true story however based on experiences of the author.

Good story, I was grasped from the beginning. The emotions were realisticly described, especially the loneliness Julie endured was palpable by the manner Barbara wrote it. I would recommend this for sure!

I had the pleasure of receiving an ebook copy of "Alone" through a StoryGraph giveaway that the author put together last year.

As a mood reader, I waited for my paperback copy and for a moment when I would be in the mood for a thriller. I don't read thrillers anymore because many of them sound the same after a while. However, I went into this one with an open mind and dove in. And what a deep dive that was!

I really cannot find anything negative to say about this book. I found well-developed characters, a narrative that flows like water, a morally grey antagonist that is hard to outright hate, charming characters and multiple POVs that help to tell the story. I was gripped to the edge of my seat the entire time! What an engaging and emotional story! The pages of my physical book are covered in annotations!

And the best part is the ending suggests there could be a sequel!! I'm all in!!!
