the plot and worldbuilding are just ... ridiculous, i'm sorry. terrible writing style with descriptions and metaphors that just didn't speak to me in the slightest. hated the way the author wrote the women in this book. just really not good, in my opinion. i actually say this after a reread, because i was like 12 or 13 when i first read this. i hated it back then too, so i decided to reread and see if i changed my mind, if maybe i just didn't get it back then. but no, it just isn't for me at any point in my life.

Excellent read. Breezed through very quickly. The premise is simple and to the point, and doesn't meander for very long in places it has no business. There was one point where I thought the story would go in a "lets change the system" direction, that my gut told me would have undermined the message of the novel; it quickly changes it's mind to the much more natural route for the story to go.

I read it for school!! It was good, but it's hard to like something a lot if it's assigned, rather than just for fun.
