Awww This was a cute friends to lovers that was both nerdy, funny, and sweet. Then it got scorching hot at the end. Phew!
I liked Breaker and Lia. I was especially happy that everyone was fairly confident in themselves to speak-up when they did and we didn’t get the dreaded “miscommunication” period. Friends or enemies to lovers tend to bring that trope out and it’s never been my favorite and this book didn’t have anything that resulted in my dread.
I adored how much Breaker showed his attentiveness to Lia and really showed how well he knew and understood her compared to Brian. Without having flashbacks, the recounts of their escapades or knowledge of each other was perfect. Sometimes flashbacks are tedious and I enjoyed how this one didn’t do that while still building that decade of history between them.
I liked Lia. Her confidence definitely was shown with Breaker. While it wasn’t “torn down” with Brian, she definitely had to change who she was and I liked how she noticed that and voiced it pretty early. I don’t blame the time it took her to finally say “enough!” because it’s hard when you’ve gone on that long, but I’m glad she did when she did. Also…Breaker. <3
On a side note, the scene in the church with the veil was HILARIOUS. There were some really funny moments in the book.

this had so much potencial and it honestly saddens me that i didn't feel like it should get a higher rating specially since i'm a best friends to lovers supremacist and i've been excitedly waiting for this one since its trope was announced, but it is what it is.
mostly, for a book this size i feel like so much time was wasted on scenes of them dating other people, instead of choosing to show us more of them as a couple afterwards, or more of breaker living in that awareness of his feeling for his best friend. you want to add that element of them having other people around before the mcs get together to create tension? totally fine. but not so many scenes that i can get actually grow very interested on the other woman and start to care about hers and breaker's relationship, and feel bad for her inevitable rejection.
however, breaker cane

I really wanted to love this more but I felt like something was missing. It needed a bit more. However, give me a man who would take me on a first date to Disneyland any day (through the VIP package).

This book blew me away. It was BY FAR the best book in the series. The friends to lovers was so cute and the characters were amazing. The second act conflict was not over-dramatized (it was in the past two books of the series) and overall I loved this book so much. The characters all felt very realistic and the book was the perfect mix of funny and heartfelt.
Definitely recommend this book, I enjoyed every minute!
