I really enjoyed this contemporary romance between an acupuncturist and a firefighter. There's a lot of drama in a short time frame, coming from the firefighter job, but it's not too overwhelming. The emotion was good and well written. Oh and there's a dog! On to the next in series.

Read this in a single sitting when I should have been sleeping. It just sucked me in. I do miss the Eliza quotes though. Wonderful sexy romance, but not enough knitting.

All three stars are because he is a firefighter. The books was surprisingly well-written and could have actually benefitted from more pages for Tox and Grace to fall in love.

However, the author disguises an eating disorder as “healthy eating” and that part of the plot is just never resolved or discussed at all. I would have appreciated a trigger warning for ED in this one

Never disappointed by Yarnagogo. Got the first free whilst looking for her new Cypress Hollow book, Darling Songbirds and cme upon a whole new series I hadn't heard about. Read it on the train today so bought this set when I got home and had reliable wi-fi. Now not sure which to read first; Darling Songbirds or Burn. What a delicious dilemma.

Fire at Twilight is the first in the Darling Bay Firefighters books, but the second one I have read. While I did really enjoy it, it was not as good as the second book. This one felt way too rushed, like it should have been a longer book, Everything just came together suddenly and so quickly....

I didn't mind Tox and Grace both falling for the other right away. That was fine with me and seem realistic. I am not one who is against the idea of love at first sight, as long as it is written so it is believable. Grace tries to control everything and fix everything and make everything perfect so nothing bad can happen. Of course that is not going to work, people do what they want and things happen even if you try to control everything. I mean you could eat healthy always and exercise all the time and such and then die one day in a car accident or something. You just cannot control all variables.

Tox is not looking for a relationship. He is the opposite of Grace. He eats what he wants, drives a motorcycle, doesn't exercise a lot, etc. He lives life how he wants and doesn't really care. He is a firefighter, but is nicknamed the angel of death. Bad things seem to happen to everyone around him, so he stays away and doesn't get serious with anyone. He meets Grace and all of that just goes out the window. That is until something happens that makes him think he is not worthy of Grace.

Grace tries to fix him, he doesn't like it, but then suddenly she sees the error of her ways and they make up. Happy ending all around, but it was a little too quick. If it could have been drawn out a little more, been a little more detailed or something, it would have been great. A fun, good read, but not as amazing as it could have been.
