3.5 stars. This installment picks up right after the events of Trial of the Sun Queen. Lor is take captive by the Aurora Prince Nadir, his sister Amya, and friend Mael. Lor is forced to come face-to-face with her past and look towards what is her destiny.

What I Loved:
- Enemies to Lovers, chemistry between the two main love interests
- Character Development: Lor facing her trauma, learning more about Nadir and side characters
- More world-building

What I Didn’t Love:
- Plot wasn’t utilized to the best of its ability to build out the world and its history.
- Had a hard time picturing what places looked like.
- Length was too long, with not enough payoff.

“Inmate” was enough to lose an entire star, it’s so cruel and there were plenty of times to tastefully drop it. Making the reader dislike the main love interest has to be balanced and this sets him up for failure in future books

3.5 stars but rounding up to 4. I got really tired of how much she kept saying she hates the prince and it started to deter from the plot
