3.75
3.75-4.0 means I really enjoyed it.
There wasn‘t a page that was boring. Quite a lot of characters but it made it all the more interesting. in the second half of the book one really started noticing that there was a switch in POV with every chapter. One knows the killer really early on in the book and the thrill lay in finding out how the inspectors combine everything and use new methods to do so. also, one learns more and more details as the book progresses, so it stays interesting.
some details were a bit loose/ended up not being of much interest which then felt a bit disappointing. the female characters, some of them were written a slightly weirdly.
all in all i ended up liking a few characters, like Hammersmith, Claire Day and Fiona. And Henry!
Maybe it was the fact that you know all perspectives in the story but at several points in the story I thought „my dudes, uhm.. really? get together, talk about everything you know. do a little timeline and compare it to your suspicions and there you have the killer…“. well well well. rn i don‘t know it by heart but are there more books? if so I‘ll definitely read them cuz the first was really worth it x
