Read this by mistake - meant to read the Jill Clement title but was intrigued by the account. It's a difficult truth to face that such behaviour exists and that the boundaries surrounding this can be blurred. It also exposes how prevalent neglect is - neglect of self, neglect from parents, neglect from society that all contributes to supporting these acts. 

I feel for the author and respect her bravery in writing this and sharing her experience.

Este libro te rasga las entrañas. Leer en primera persona cómo una persona de 14 AÑOS fue abusada por un hombre de 50 (!!!) mientras todo el mundo miraba y nadie hacía nada, es realmente duro. Con la excusa de ´tú lo consentiste, solo respetaba tu voluntad´, aprovechan para enfocar la mirada en la víctima, sin cuestionar al adulto que incluso escribía libros sobre sus relaciones pedófilas... No tiene ni pies ni cabeza, me costaba asumir lo que estaba leyendo. Un escritor muy aclamado en Francia, y TODOS sus libros trataban el mismo tema. 

Muchas partes del libro me han dado escalofríos, asco, ganas de dejarlo... porque la realidad, desde luego, supera la ficción. Ese momento en que ella se maquilla y él le dice: qué quieres? parecer una mujer? Crees que eso me gusta? O cuando narra sus viajes a Filipinas, buscando ´culos frescos´, refiriéndose a niños de 11, 12 años...

Lo peor es que no sirve decir, esto tiene que saberse, porque YA SE SABÍA, ÉL PUBLICABA SOBRE ELLO. Bravo por Vanessa, por contar su verdad y su historia, y no dejar que la escriban por ella.
