A bunch of murder mystery writers and fans band together to murder each other and/or solve a murder. The central mystery was hard to follow via audiobook because there were so many characters. And so many murders.  Cozy enough and a little too fluffy, but it IS the book I chose specifically to be fluffy so I wouldn't be streaming constant horror into my ears.

Surprisingly because I don't dig romances or side plots, I felt invested in the romantic side plots! The gay police detective who's never had a girlfriend! The former priest who's never had a girlfriend! The Ukrainian refugee who attracts them both! I've read several books by Elly Griffiths now and I have this experience with all of them - the mystery just OK, the romance better. On to book #3.

I didn’t know this audiobook was part of a book series. Which ended up being good because I didn’t read the first one, obviously. You do not have to read the first book to catch on to the characters. I don’t know if all of the characters are in this book are in the first book. Nevertheless, the characters in this book were lovable and funny. It was a fun, “who done” happy mystery book. I hope there is another one coming to print. Mild mention of sex. No swearing.
