Keela and her cockatiel, Chicken, help solve another puzzling case in Half Moon Cross. While hosting a fundraising gala, they find a dead woman in the locked bird room with an agitated Ruby, the scarlet macaw star of the Parrots of the Caribbean cruise company. Keela is sure that the bird communication app she’s been using with Chicken is the key to getting answers, but first she needs to get Ruby’s cooperation. But can she get the police to accept a bird’s eyewitness?

Bailey Booth delivers a fun cozy with an unconventional crime solving duo. Keela is an endearing character and her bond with Chicken is very cute. Ruby’s diva attitude towards Keela and sweet connection with Roy added charm to the story. The mystery is nicely paced and well plotted and the setting comes alive with the sights and sounds of a tropical retreat. Can’t wait to see what comes next for this duo.
