An ama ing adaptation. They made some connections that even the book didn't make. There were a few areas that didn't quite make sense and seemed like a translation error.

I adored the Claudia Gray novel, and this is a really good adaptation. I loved seeing all of Leia's memories from her childhood as actual flashbacks. Adorable! (But also painful). I do think that some things from the story seem confusing here. It's my first time reading manga, so maybe that's why!

If you enjoyed the original "Leia: Princess of Alderaan" book, you'll probably enjoy this graphic novel!

I love the situation they have created for Leia to grow within. I love the multiple plotlines being developed around one main point of view. My only issue is how her parents are written. I understand they need to be busy, but I don't like them being borderline neglectful. I'm hoping that will ease some in the next volume.

Leia is one of my favorite characters in Star Wars, and Claudia Gray is one of my favorite authors, so this story hits close to home for me. It follows Leia from childhood to her early days of learning to how to be a political diplomat for her home planet of Alderaan. I loved getting to learn more about the parents that raised her, and what life as a princess was like. Even though Leia didn't get to know Padme, I think that Claudia does a good job of giving Leia that same passion for justice that we see in Padme, which is beautifully nurtured by her adoptive parents.

Love all of the character designs in this one. I've never read the original novel - this makes me want to check it out!
