This book has been sitting on my shelf for at least a year staring at me, and finally I picked it up because it was my bookclub’s choice this month.

I usually don’t like horror books, even though I love horror movies. This book however, may have changed my mind. This is like horror meets psychological thriller and I loved it!

Multiple POVs, past and present outlooks, likable characters, suspense, and truly scary moments that’ll give you chills. THIS is a book everyone should be reading in October.

My only issues are that I didn’t love the pace, got confused sometimes with who the narrator was for each chapter, and (this isn’t the books fault) one of my friends absolutely spoiled who the serial killer was the entire time. If the pace was a little faster and I didn’t have the ending spoiled this would have been a 5 ⭐️ read for me.

The Whisper Man is a thriller mystery at its best. A delicious storyline that is sure to keep you running to lock every door and hide under the covers should the Whisper Man come sneaking up in the night.

The Whisper Man, once started, is very hard to put down. It kept me shaking all the way to the end.

Full of twists and turns, this book is an excellent mystery that also tugs on your heart strings as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple points of view, which easily distinguished the characters.

If I could give the Whisper Man a 10, I would!

I have to give this only two stars. I had really high hopes for the book but I found that it focused so much on the story of jake and his dad without enough scary stuff happening. Plus the whisper man’d identity wasn’t “solved” until the very end and wasn’t really explained how that connected to jake and his dad.

Granted I listened to the audiobook version but I found it quite difficult to follow and there was so many unnecessary plot lines

This is my favorite from Alex North so far. This was dark and twisted with the perfect balance between thriller and paranormal. Christopher Eccleston did a PHENOMENAL job narrating this. He gave such a strength to the already solid story.

Upon moving to a new town after the recent death of his wife, Tom and his son Jake try to rebuild, only he chooses a town with a brutal past. A serial killer once roamed here. He has since been caught and resides in prison… but there is a copycat using the same pattern and Jake is in the crosshairs.

This is told in multiple POV and I found all the character contributions interesting. The relationship between Tom and Jake is strained and history that is revealed with Tom’s own father was a great twist.

The paranormal element in this book was my favorite part. I love the eerily unlexplained… and this book had it. It was chill-inducing and unsettling.
