Loved it. Read it in one day.

It started with a grumpy guy adopting a stray dog because she was just too cute, and no shelter could ever be good enough for her. How could I not love this book?

The characters were funny and cute, and their banter was great.

It made me laugh a lot and also made me feel emotional.

I would definitely recommend it if you like romance books with spice.

If you're not convinced, here is a quote:

"“Hi, doggy.” I crouch down and laugh as she tries to give me kisses. She’s full of goofy, wild energy, doing these little tippy-taps with her paws on the floor as her tail wags so hard it might fall off. Her butt wiggles in the cutest way as I scratch the spot above her tail. I’m in love."

Honestly i would read this book for Daisy, the dog, alone.

I was listening to the audiobook and I couldn’t stand the male narrator. He made me cringe so hard I couldn’t stand it. Jamie having the nickname “songbird” for Pippa just made me cringe. I don’t hate the plot I just couldn’t handle the narrator.

it was definitely a cute book that i laughed so hard about. it's giving fluffy light romance that would get you out of a slump because it was adorable throughout! there was not one chapter where i wasn't smiling and i loved all of the characters (except zach of course)

i adore our two mcs and i think they're such a healthy couple, plus sports romance omg? the grump x sunshine is giving and i was just smiling throughout the book! i definitely don't regret picking this up today because i was more than happy to enjoy jamie and pippa's relationship, plus the opening scenes were iconic with the dual pov.

this is the first book that i've read with actual dual povs and i found it enjoyable to know how much the two mcs appreciate each other, but i just ick with details of performing in books especially singing, I DON'T KNOW. it's not the author's fault at all, i just don't like that trope i guess, LMAO.

I'm so in love with Behind the Net. This book engulfed me and I couldn't put it down. I was looking forward to this book so much and never regretted that I started reading it. This book exceeded all my expectations!

Jamie is a grumpy goalkeeper, he had to move to another team to be closer to his mother, for whom he worries. He is against any obligations, so in his life there is only a mother whom he must take care of, and hockey, which he loves with all his heart.

Pippa is his assistant who he hired to help with his dog. Her dreams of becoming a singer and developing in the music industry were shattered. Dumped by her boyfriend, she lives on her sister's couch and plans to develop herself in marketing as her parents want.

Once Pippa and Jamie studied at the same school and were secretly in love with each other, but their paths diverged and they were not together. And now they have to work and live together. Old feelings returned, sparks fly between them, they feel attraction, but each of them, due to problems with the past, is not ready for a relationship. But it's hard to hold back when they start to get to know each other better. Jamie helps Pippa believe in herself and encourages her to return to music, he is ready to do anything to help her overcome her fears.

Jamie and Pippa are so lovely. They taught each other a lot, opened their eyes to many things. Their relationship developed at an ideal pace. From the very beginning it was obvious that these two were made for each other. I loved reading about how jealous they were of each other, especially Jamie's jealousy of Rory.

I look forward to the next books by Stephanie Archer. I am in love with her characters and want to get to know them sooner.

"I'd do it forever if it wouldn't break my heart."

Firstly, I want to thank Stephanie Archer for allowing me to ARC read this amazing book!
You guys, when I tell you that this book is just the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, I am not joking. This story is one of my new favorites - and OF COURSE it's a hockey romance!!

The book follows Pippa Hartley, a girl who is struggling with the idea of what she wants to do with her life - does she want to follow the safe route that her parents have planned for her, or does she want to pursue her dreams? Enter Jamie Streicher. This man, y'all, WHEW! He is the star goalie on his hockey team and will forever be the goalie of her heart *sniffles!*. This gorgeous hunk of a man teaches our dear heroine to build the confidence she deserves while letting her shine in her own light. It is absolutely killing me to hold back on this review because this story needs to be broadcasted everywhere!! Pippa & Jamie. That's all I have to say. That's it. That's the review.

Tropes: Hockey, slow burn, grumpy sunshine, a hint of second chance romance, and forced proximity <3
