Very short (as openly stated: it is a novella) and intending to whet your appetite for the later books in the series.

I think that having a short 'prequel' is an awesome way to learn the author's style, and to become invested in the other characters in the book, who will be main-staging the later books in the series. I liked the characters, and the pacing was a bit rushed. I felt like this was perhaps written after the book featuring Fiona. This is purely guesswork, as I have not read Fiona's book yet.

Well... I am not really impressed. Guess it was okay. Everything is of course rushed and the characters aren't that well developed. I never felt the connection... Plus the ending was not very satisfactory. You have no clue what will happen to them, how and where they will live, what will happen to the heroine leaving her sis etc...

a fun, frothy little prequel novella, an amuse-bouche after the fact.
