A quick read, enjoyable but lacking in some aspects.

This was surprisingly quite an easy read and not bogged down with too much legal jargon, which I liked. It was a read of political scandal, abuse of power and privilige.

I really didn't like James, but I think this was written to make the reader feel that way. Sophie was quite annoying and I found myself inwardly screaming at her on a few occasions. I liked Kate's character and her passion.

The ending wasn't as explosive as I thought it would be, which was a bit of a let down.

A very well orchastrated courtroom drama. The author takes us from the present to the past, in order to establish the background for the events that lead us to the present, therefore keeping the readers spellbound.
Life changing secrets, kept hidden, are revealed along the way. The last one is a jawdropper. I can not wait to see how this translates onto television.

As soon as I started reading this book, I knew it wasn't what I thought it was, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's quite a heavy book, but it's very well written, and all the women who narrate are equally complex and sympathetic. I highly recommend for someone who wants a hard-hitting story.

Dnf- I couldn't get into it. Got about halfway through and after trying to make myself read it for weeks gave up.
