Just an easy read, however Not Even Bones has great imagery and perfect execution to enjoy the reading. I was captivated the entire story. Loved the short chapters as well. (8-10 pages a chapter)

There's definitely something interesting here, but I found the writing to be a bit too juvenile to really dive in. The characters have a decent amount of nuance, and the general plot is pretty cool. I have to admit the level of gore and physical violence is a bit shocking and can be a little much at times, which also affected my enjoyment - though I also kind of appreciate the author really going there with certain situations. Despite my mild feelings about the first book, I will most likely check out the rest as this book lands on a pretty significant cliffhanger!

I'm a huge fan of the "Not Even Bones" Webtoon series and decided to read the original book series since I'm so impatient over the updates.

"Not Even Bones" is such a fun read. It'll leave you squeamish over descriptions of torture and dissection, having you questioning your moral compass, and cheering for a protagonist that makes some seriously questionable decisions. I will say that some of the prose felt repetitive at times (i.e., Nita's near-constant fantasising about dissecting people), but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.
