I'm not sure how I felt about the ending to this series. :/

I would give this 4.5 starts if GR would let me! It was a great way to tie up the series, although I think she has left the door open to write further books in the series. I have major opinions, listed below in the spoilers....

SPOILERS.... scroll to read....

Okay, so I KNEW that Snowden was SO bad! I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! I totally mentioned this in my review of book 3, Envy. That was what I had expected, and I ::knew:: that he had seen to it that Will had been killed. Evil dude. Glad he gets what he deserves...And I'm so glad Elizabeth ends up with Teddy. BUT, why did Teddy wait SO long to come back to her? That was whimpy, I think. He should have been back that night. Not days later... but other than that, LOVE Teddy, he's adorable and perfect for Elizabeth. I do think it was too much for Elizabeth to ask to name her baby after Will Kellar.... that was a bit tacky, she was lucky that Teddy still wanted her after being married three times, sheesh. She should not push her luck...

I think it was fitting that Carolina didn't get her man of her dreams. I like the morale of the story, that he said he would have loved her no matter what, even if he knew she was a maid, BUT that since she lied SO much and SO bad, he couldn't trust her. I was so glad he was done with her. And it was about freakin' time for her to have her sister move in with her and not be a maid anymore... that should have happened MUCH sooner, sheesh. What was that about? I'm glad she eventually figured that out...

Okay, Penelope... I think it is SO fitting that she gets what she deserves with her Prince, lol. I love that he totally messed with her. But I am bugged that she ends up with Henry again. She totally does not deserve him.

With Diana, WTHeck??? I am totally bugged and questioning if she EVER really loved Henry or if it was just lust and if she was just too young and too clueless. I can't believe she walked away from that situation... TOTALLY bugs me. That is the one thing that kills me about how these ended, lol. And she says, "You'll always be my first love..." and then that she will have other loves and they will continue to break her heart. That was just pathetic and dumb to me. Totally annoying... I guess the author wants to leave it open for her to write future books....

Also Diana runs away to France and becomes a lesbian novelist. FIGHT ME.

Interesting book. Just when I thought I figured out the plot in this series it changed on me.

I didn't like the ending initially, but it grew on me.

An enjoyable read. Yes, I do agree with some of the comments that Elizabeth's story wasn't overly interesting until the last few chapters, but I didn't mind that too much.

And the ending was realistic in my opinion.

Finally got my hands on the last part! I had a hard time waiting to find out what happens to everyone. I was not dissappointed. I felt this was a great ending to an entertaining series even though it wasn't a perfect happily-ever-after. Actions have consequenses which I think was one of the themes running through this series. Everything doesn't always end up perfect, no matter how pretty your clothes are.

Sometimes too much realism in a romance novel can be a bad thing, I do read them for the escapism after all! However, here I think the author has done a great job in setting the tone of the series from the start so that the events in this book didn't come as a shock. I'm happy to recommend this series as an easy and enjoyable read!

At the end of this book I seriously screamed and threw it to the ground. I was so upset with the ending but thinking about it now I'm glad it happened that way. The series was good and this book was (in my opinion) the weakest of the four but still very well written.

No. Words. This book broke my heart into a bagillion pieces I'll never be the same again. Never!!! :( This is the most I've cried in a very long time. Everything was just so on point: the characters, the plot, the betrayal, the romance. Uuh! Swoon swoon!
