i read the prequel, 'fairy dust and the quest for the egg', like 15 years ago and found it magical and emotional ... i had the same experience with this sequel. it was lovely picking up where i'd left off as a child + whipping thru the story in a few hours all over again. if you ever watched the disney fairies cgi films and/or played the old mmorpg, do yourself a favor and get into this series xx

Bought the book for Aoife for Christmas - I never get tired of Gail Carson Levine! Her stories are wonderful. All three kids are enjoying this - we are reading it slowly, just a chapter a night.

This was kind of a cute book. You really need to know the fairy lore of the Disney Neverland Fairies to really get the book, though. I've seen a couple of the movies, so I got the talents and some of that. I need to read the first one, since I'd never heard any of that about the Dove. This is not a particularly deep book, and doesn't really have any grand message, other than "be responsible." The illustrations are quite well done and I enjoyed them a lot. This is a good book for girls on a purely entertainment level.

When I was a child, I collected the Tales from Pixie Hollow books. They were some of my first reads, and my favorites. Unfortunately, Disney Fairies stopped producing their books, and I was never able to finish the three books that went alongside the series. ⁣

I picked up this book partly because I want to finish my collection, but also because I’d just read Girls of Paper and Fire, which was an extremely intense and dark story. I needed something soft to ease my mind and make me feel better, and this book was just as whimsical as I remember the first one being. The artwork in the Disney Fairies series is stunning.⁣
