This was a fun follow up to Wicked Fox. It's a page turner and I was happy to be back in this storyline even though we were seeing through different characters. Both books read like a Korean drama and this one seemed to have even more of that feeling. That's likely a good thing for K-drama fans. It was like having nods to some of the people and happenings from favorite dramas.

The characters didn't seem as fleshed out as in the first book, but were still compelling and entertaining.

I liked this more than Wicked Fox, I think because there was more supernatural elements. I loved the whole quest aspect of the book, the group searching for a way to stop the ghosts, fix the tear, and save Miyoung. It was really interesting to learn about more mythical creatures and folktales.

Of course I loved Junu. Who doesn't love a gorgeous, flirty, anti-hero with a tragic backstory that just wants to find a place to belong and people to care about? Learning about Junu's life, his whole history of how he became a Dokkaebi was super interesting and I loved reading from his perspective because he really just wanted some friends!

I didn't mind the romance but it happened very quickly... but that's kind of what I expect of K-Drama type romances - one moment it's like there's no feelings and then bam they'd die for one another but with enough angst to keep it interesting. I didn't feel much chemistry with Somin and Junu but they were cute enough.

I'm not a fan of Somin. She's a badass for sure but I've never been interested in people that need to control everything and everyone and feel like they need to know everything that's ever happened and how it affects them. I just didn't connect with her.

Overall this is a great duology and I loved this second book so much.
P.S. Junu gives off bisexual vibes...and I'm here for it.
