Some quick things I hadn't read from other reviews, that I'd like to state:
There's body shaming, slut/sex shaming, and ableist slurs (r* variety).
The slurs are internal monoglue from the FMC, body and sex shaming towards mostly another woman, sort of The Other Woman situation. Don't get me wrong, the person being shamed is awful and it isn't random - but still a huge eyeroll and cringe while reading.

I can't excuse either, but the r* slur being used multiple times, is especially jarring and horrible to read in a book.

Apart from that (even tho I almost DNF'd because of the early slur)... It was okay. The world is pretty interesting, the MMC is hot, the FMC isn't unreasonably helpless. She had a spark, for sure, even though she gets kinda repetitive. She also gets some insta-allies that... don't seem to make much sense to me, considering how slow burn the rest of the book is?

I desperately needed more interaction between the MCs, though. Any conversation to make the end (a huge cliffhanger, btw) be more meaningful. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Don't go in expecting to only read the first book, also. I haven't read the second yet, but again the end is a HUGE CLIFFHANGER, and seems to be only the beginning.

I’m writing this review after reading the second book so idk if all my memories are accurate lol… Anyways, the story starts out and it’s like ew typical wattpad-esque story, she’s DiFfErEnT than all the others and gets bullied nonstop and has a spunky firey personality and isn’t like other girls— we get it. But as the story progresses you get more insight as to why she is the way that she is, and it didn’t turn out to be the worst story I’ve ever read!
I fully was expecting Jaxon to be her mate, so that one kind of took me by surprise.
The whole story is kind of cliche but that adds to the charm since it’s not horribly written! I’ve been enjoying all the characters AND mera’s wardrobe like yess. Im not going to lie, I definitely thought there would be way more spice than there was, but pop off miss virgin. But also like, do you really have to keep bringing that up? Anyways I enjoyed the story lol. And shadow, I enjoyed him!
