Forbidden? Not really

Yeah, Lyric dragged the issue with Keanu out. I kind of get why she behaved the way she did, but I thought it would turn around once her Mom had that talk with her. Their love story was beautiful otherwise. Ken didn’t let her play him at all and I liked that; Lyric would’ve walked all over him if he did.

I had to get book 2, Lyric from the Eisenberg Effect read before summer's end and I loved it. Not as much action and bossing up like in book 1 but this is Lyric's story. It was softer. Still spicy but loved her story. Love that certain womanly things were included in her story. Check trigger warnings. But it's real life and that's what I love about Huffington's plots.

Lyric + Keanu "Til death." They pulled all the classic Nene memes out of me. "I'm tired. I'm so very tired chiiile."
My girl Lyric. I had to sit with her for a second because I was frustrated with her more often than not. She worked my nerves, honestly. Communication is everything and to be left on read for three months would absolutely break me too. But she did the same thing by keeping Ken in the background for so long, for what? That love letter? Loved it. That would make me fall in love too. Her excessive crying didn't bother me because one thing I'm going to do, is cry...then boss up. So girl, same.
Keanu was intentional with his words from the moment he realized how badly he hurt her. I love that he memorized the letter. I wish he would've told her that he did. I was definitely on his team when it came to telling the family. I believe they stood in the way of their own happiness throughout their story. The back and forth was chaotic and immature and took up most of the book.
I wanted to see them love out loud more because the secret went on for so long. In the end when Lyric realized she manifested the life she is living? Loved that for her.

I enjoy this, it was so good Lyric got on my last nerve with keeping this a secret from her family. Like this man was ready to scream his love for her from the rooftops and she just so scared of what her brothers is gonna do. Girl you a grown woman, they’ll get over it! Other than that, I absolutely loved this series and will be buying the physical copies.
