Another comforting and entertaining read from Jackson Braun. I particularly loved all the quirky artist characters in this one, and Qwill’s friendships with the Butterfly Girl and elderly woman who dies in a house fire. There’s also lots of humorous small town events and drama — an adult spelling bee, protests at the library over the installation of computers, and murder and intrigue at a local art show. It’s the perfect listen if you are craving a cozy mystery and love cats.

Another one in my guilty pleasure series. What can I say? I can't resist a crime-fighting cat.

I enjoyed this entry in the series. It was a solid story...even if all the "briskets" annoy me.

I first discovered this series with my Grandmother while wandering around our favorite bookstore. She recently passed away and I reached for this as a comfort read. I always enjoy escaping to Pickax and hanging out with Qwilleran and his cats Koko and YumYum. Qwill is trying to enjoy his new bird feeder and art center which has recently opened in town. Soon mystery finds him, however and he must investigate to solve a mysterious murder.

Ok, yeah it's pablum. It's what I read when I'm too tired to comprehend long sentences. Pick pretty much any of them. They're all the same.

Quill's Moose County is a place where the world is less complicated. A bucolic mystery in a small town where the biggest event is a spelling bee.
