Selfish isn't always a bad thing

Ryder is one hot as hell Billionaire, Ashlyn is just starting her post college career. Meeting her best friends brother on their final hoorah in Panama City Ashlyn fights her need to be without a man and maintain her no-fucks given attitude but soon gives in to Ryder's charms. Ryder is nothing short of a Sex God in all things in and out of the bedroom, breaking through Ashlyn's armory one notch at a time.
This is a brilliant start to a could be, want to be, may be intense romance. Can't wait to see what happens in Selfless.

Omg. I love Ryder and Ashlyn. Their relationship and banter is what I needed after reading Dash. Another quick read (not only length but because I couldn’t put it down).

Ashlyn is a BAB. And reminds me very much of the FMC I. Sabotage. No effs given. Unhinged. I love it.

Ryder is a playboy that gets swept off his feet and falls first. One of my favorite tropes.

My heart tore to pieces at the end, and because I needed to immediately see what happens, I moved to Selfless (I will circle back for Becca and Jaycents story after).

This book took me a little bit to get into but once I did it was incredible. I loved the characters and the idea that love was both beautiful and tragic.

The ending of this book gutted me. I'm off to pick up where this story left off.

Sexy, amusing and irresistible, Selfish is the perfect romance novel. Shantel Tessier is always a must-read author for me and this book had something really interesting in the blurb that catch my attention.

A feisty and strong heroine and a sexy dominant hero brings a lot of steamy action in this story. Ashlyn is going on vacation with her best friend in Florida, where she has a one night stand with a sexy stranger named Ryder. The next morning, surprise!! He’s her friend’s big brother and his one night with her wasn’t enough. After this little trip, she moves across the country in New York for work and is now living in the same building as him.

Let’s just say that Ryder can’t let Ashlyn go like that and he makes his intentions clear. Ashlyn is sassy and I loved her personality. She isn’t accustomed to have sex with feelings so their new sexual relationship transforming into more is a little too much for her to deal with. Ryder is so understanding, but he’ll do anything to make her realize that what they have is more. The sexy scenes are really intense and scorching. They have a certain magnetism and you feel everything between them. The emotions really translate easily to the reader.

These new heroes are enthralling and Shantel Tessier captured their essences perfectly. I was surprise to see that the book isn’t a standalone with this cliffhanger at the end. I hope the see the completion of Ashlyn and Ryder’s story very soon.

What could go wrong when two best friends take a vacation between finishing college and starting their new careers? When her roommate's boyfriend tags along, Ashlyn finds herself as the third wheel and miserable. She takes to the bar to have some fun. What she found was a random hookup with a man she would later describe as a sex god.  What could go wrong? The sex god could end up being her best friend's brother, who is also a low key millionaire, and decides he's not playing by the rules.

Overall I loved this book, and the intensive romance that bloomed. The contrast between their emotional and physical was written very well, with the dual point-of-view giving each respective inner dialogue. The writing style was quick paced, but still deep and the right amount of saucy.

Ryder's love for his sister is so genuine, and his passion for his father's company shows. It is a nice change from macho men who don't connect with their emotional sides. He shows his love with money, but still puts the time into choosing the gifts... even though they're expensive.  Ashlyn complains too much, but overall is a go getter who is determined to be successful.

The plot moves quick, with a semi-unrealistic timeline. Who goes on vacation for a week, the week before moving, when you haven't packed to move? Some plot points felt rush or drawn out. But it was easy enough to read past. It was also strange that Ashlyn mentioned the differential in financial status, as the daughter of two lawyers. No, she may not have been the daughter of a millionaire, but she was almost portrayed as middle class. She definitely wasn't.

I gave this book 5 stars, and will definitely be reading the next books in the series.
