holy shit i did not see this coming. this book has leveled me. i feel overwhelmed in the same way that les mis always leaves me feeling.
every character is a masterpiece. the plot caught me up so completely. the end is satisfying while also leaving so much space for awe and overwhelm in the face of what war can be.
incredible reflections on what it means to be human, and what it means to have power over somebody, and what revolutions can mean (and not mean).
a bit of a luddite story? a bit of moral relativism maybe? but leaving me with so many feelings in my heart and so many things to think on.
