Having read Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls (One & Two) and Stories For Boys Who Dare To Be Different, I was very much looking forward to dipping into this. The message throughout this book is that gender/racial/religious stereotypes do not need to be adhered to and that kids should move in their own way, rather than the way society tells them to. Because of this, most of the stories are of those who bucked the trend and were loud, proud and dared to be different. Societal norms are changing, albeit slowly, but the best way to raise a child who has no qualms about being who they really are and staying true to themselves is to instil these very valuable lessons from an early age and to me, these are the perfect books to allow you to do that.

Not only are the people featured varied, interesting and inspirational in order to maintain a child's engagement but each page is wonderfully colourful and visually appealing, too. Those it discusses are both men and women, from all corners of the globe, all different backgrounds and all different professions. The writing style is clear and easy to follow for youngsters and doesn't waffle on too long as that's when I find you tend to lose their attention.

I know for certain that had these books been around when I was growing up, they would've been instant classics in my household and would've taken pride of place on my bookshelf. They really do make learning fun! I look forward to picking up Ben Brooks' Stories For Boys Who Dare To Be Different - Two, out in March 2019.
