I found this book endearing and just sweet. I loved the family and its weird dynamics and the situation that brings them together. During this time where there is so much friction politically this was a breath of fresh air. I couldn’t stop listening , the narrator was fantastic and at times I cried from the tenderness of it.

Yes, it steals the plot of Little Miss Sunshine. Yes, it's chick lit. But I picked it up around 7 and didn't put it down until I finished it at midnight, because Jojo Moyes can tell a story.

Love it! I like most of her books, this one was a little different than the other ones with a more modern twist but I enjoyed it just as much. It is very good. Depressing but uplifting. I balled my eyes out at one point in the book. The characters are awesome. I was sad when it ended.

Having read and loved The Girl You Left Behind I had no hesitations in diving into this book. The writing and the feel of this book are sooooooo different from The Girl You Left Behind that it would be possible to think they were written by two different authors. I spent the first 65% of this book wanting to throw it at the wall and asking myself if I really wanted to finish. Unfortunately I bought it on kindle so I felt I had no choice. I'm finally done and glad I persevered!
My initial frustrations with the book stemmed mostly from too many cliches, an elementary writing style, and a completely predictable plot line. Almost three-quarters of the way through the plot picked up, although still quite predictable, but the writing became more enjoyable and I lost myself in the story and the characters and didn't notice so many of the issues I had in the first portion of the book.
While I thought many areas were weak, I felt that all of the characters were quite well developed and likable, which I think saved this book for me.
This is perfect as a vacation/beach read.

100% romantisch leesvoer. Super zoet. Dit boek las dan ook zoals een zak met snoep. Eerst genoot ik nog van de zoetigheid maar halverwege moest ik het echt even wegleggen. De zoetheid was 'too much'.
