A NATURAL HISTORY OF UNNATURAL THINGS by Zachari Logan is amazing! I loved this poetry book!! Right away from page one I was enamoured with the blend of poetry and art. I loved the themes of queerness, nature, Canadian prairie life, and loss. This book really resonated with me and my fave poems were Tattoo, Shimmer and Four Years Before It Was Legal. I also loved Paper, Petals, Leaves and Skin: A Chance Encounter With the Affectionate Eye of Mary Delany where Zachari describes his first encounter with Delany’s art and how she inspired his own work. Not only has she inspired his visual art but also his poetry. There’s a poem in this book titled Mary Delany’s Hands. I loved entering Zachari’s extremely creative mind when reading this written art and I would love to see his visual art in person one day. Truly a book I won’t forget and one I will revisit!
