I honestly didn’t have very high hopes but it surprised me and I genuinely enjoyed it a lot! Obviously it’s a middle grade dystopian from the 2010s, but definitely one of the best of said genre that I’ve read. (As a scale: not as good as the Hunger Games but wayyy better than Rot and Ruin) I even enjoyed the romance!

I was really excited to read this, knowing that the author was a fellow fan of my favorite band, Flyleaf! I recommend this book for high school and older! Some scenes were a little uncomfortable, due to romance. Otherwise, it was very good! I’m excited to read the rest of the series!
