It started strong! Funny ridiculous scenarios, quirky FMC, grumpy MMC, hilarious moments with Juniper's book writing. There's a murder and it looks to be connected to Juniper's past and....I don't know. It's hard to say what the focus of the book was after that. I think tying the murder to Juniper and her mother's past turned the tone of the book more serious and it started making the comedy awkward. Side characters and romance went flat. Her book writing disappeared and then randomly popped back as an epiphany. There were some random, super relatable moments with both Aiden and Juniper as far as anxiety goes. This feels like a rom-com mystery in the beginning, but ends feeling forced back into the genre after deviating off course.

Mk. Well. I'd personally prefer if Christian lit would declare itself as what it is, but it is what it is.  There are TW presented but they really should be modified from sexual assault to rape and unplanned pregnancy, a relationship with a minor and violence and murder, obv.  Aside from all that. The writing was quite funny. Juniper was a manic pixie dream girl with no real character aside from being Quirky.  Aiden was a bit better, but pretty trademark Liberal, being a Good Guy who works at a food bank and is a great teacher but is entrenched in traditional gender roles enough to be comfy just sitting around while women cook all his meals.
